Successful habilitation of Dr. Cornelia Sennewald
On 20 February 2026, Dr Cornelia Sennewald, Research Associate at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM), successfully completed her habilitation procedure at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering at TUD Dresden University of Technology. The procedure was carried out at the same Institute.
The focus was on her scientific lecture followed by a colloquium on the topic of "Novel weaving technologies for composite applications".
In it, she showed how novel weaving structures and simulation-based development approaches can be used to realize complex, three-dimensional and functionally integrated textile reinforcement structures for composites and how these can be developed in a targeted manner for various technical and biomedical applications.
With its decision, the habilitation committee not only acknowledged the quality of the presentation, but also Dr. Cornelia Sennewald's extensive scientific achievements in research and teaching.
