Prof. Jürgen Weber honoured with Joseph Bramah Medal
Jürgen Weber, Professor of Fluid-Mechatronic Systems at the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), has been honoured with the Joseph Bramah Medal 2022 for his outstanding contributions to research, development and education in the field of fluid technology and mechatronics. The award is endowed with £600. The winner also receives a bronze medal.
Since 1968, the Mechatronics, Computer Science and Control Engineering Section of the IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers) has awarded the prize annually for outstanding achievements in promoting the science of mechanical engineering, particularly in the field of hydraulics.
Jürgen Weber has held the Chair of Fluid-Mechatronic Systems and been Head of the Institute of Fluid Technology since 2010. Since 1 July 2018, he has headed the Institute of Mechatronic Mechanical Engineering at TUD.
Weber studied mechanical engineering at TU Dresden and obtained his doctorate in 1991. He worked as a senior engineer at the then Chair of Hydraulics and Pneumatics until 1997. This was followed by around 13 years in industry. He held various positions in the development department of the agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer CNH.
