International Summer School on “Trends and new developments in Laser Technology”

From August 29 to September 2, the Technische Universität Dresden and the Fraunhofer IWS organized the eleventh International Summer School "Trends and new developments in Laser Technology" under the leadership of Prof. Andrés Lasagni, from the Institute for Manufacturing Technology. More than 45 students and young scientists come to Dresden to this unique event from more than 10 different countries.

The five-days summer school offered students and PhD students the opportunity to get knowledge on basic and applied aspects of laser technology. The program consisted of expert lectures, supplemented by participant presentations and informal discussion sessions.

In addition, laboratory tours as well as three different laboratory practices at the laboratories of Fraunhofer IWS gave the participants an insight into the range of research activities in Dresden.
