Open Hub Day of the AI application hub for plastic packaging
How can plastic recyclates and their processing be safely managed in the future? What pioneering technologies, perspectives and new business models are there?
In Dresden, the partners of the KIOptiPack innovation laboratory will use the concrete example of the production of plastic cups to make the range of current research into packaging development from recycled plastics comprehensible and tangible - from the granulate and film properties, to its odor perception, right through to the finished product.
During a tour of the Fraunhofer IVV Processing Technologies Technical Center, visitors will be able to experience and touch a wide variety of materials with recycled content and their qualities at individual stations. The processing of films with recyclate content into new cups is demonstrated live and supported with the help of digital tools - at five stations:
1. experience recyclate properties: packaging materials with recyclate content virtually labeled and to touch
2. safe forming of cups with the help of models: Live processing of films with recyclate content into new cups
3. demonstration of the data room as an intelligent network for linking and using data across the board
4. packaging development with a view to the future: use of model data to predict packaging functions at the future workplace of packaging developers
5. business ecosystem and digital business models: added value through the use of data
At the stations, participants will have the opportunity to talk to the scientists and find out exactly how packaging development can be decisively optimized by combining data from material production, testing, processing, recyclability assessment and life cycle assessment by setting up and using a common industrial data space and which future-oriented business models result from this.
Admission is free of charge. You can register here.
