Description
The Chair for Dynamics and Mechanism Design (DMT) is involved within the CRC/Transregio 96 „Thermo-energetic Design of Machine Tools“ involviert and processes the central subproject A05 „In-process system simulation of machine tool models“ in cooperation with the Institute of Machine Tools and Control Engineering(IWM).
This subproject has the task to enable the thermoelastic analyzes of the behaviour of subsystems, demonstration objects and machines investigated in the CRC. At the DMT these tasks are realized with the FE-software ANSYS along with MATLAB, Python and the functional mockup interface(FMI).
During the first phase, methods to realize the simulations with the chosen software were developed. A main focus was put on structural variabilities, recognizing the position of the machine components with respect to each other for the whole analysis time.
The current work is mainly focussed on the incorportaion of the results other subprojects oft he CRC, which investigate thermal relevant aspects of machine tools, more detailled, into the simulation process. Therefore coupled simulations using Python, MATLAB and FMI are realized.
Furthermore in the context of the CRC/Transregio 96 research in the filed of numerical methodology to decrease the needed effort for those structural variable simulations is carried out.
