We congratulate Martin Dunker on his doctorate degree
On December 19, 2024, Martin Dunker, M.Sc., successfully defended his dissertation entitled "Investigations on the release behavior of cesium and strontium during the incineration of household waste". In his thesis, Mr. Dunker dealt with the release and incorporation of caesium and strontium during waste incineration. The knowledge gained provides important contributions to the operation of waste incineration plants, particularly in the event of incidents.
The doctoral committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Uwe Hampel from the Institute of Power Engineering at TU Dresden. The dissertation was reviewed by Prof. Dr. Michael Beckmann (Institute of Process Engineering and Environmental Technology, TU Dresden) and Prof. Dr. Franz Winter (Institute of Chemical Technology, Environmental Technology and Life Sciences, TU Vienna). Prof. Wolfgang Lippmann (TU Dresden) and Prof. Dr. Michael Stintz (TU Dresden) were also involved as committee members. Martin Dunker impressed the committee not only with his well-structured and comprehensively researched dissertation, but also with his in-depth specialist knowledge and confident, confident answers to all questions.
The defense was not only a special moment academically, but also personally. In addition to almost the entire team of the Chair of Energy Process Engineering, who supported his former colleague, his family was also present to witness this success.
Martin Dunker worked as a Research Associate at the Chair of Energy Process Engineering at TU Dresden from 2017 to 2023. Since 2024, he has been successfully applying his expertise as a project engineer at DREWAG, a company of SachsenEnergie AG.
We would like to congratulate Mr. Dunker on this outstanding milestone and wish him all the best for his future professional and scientific career.
