Review: EVT at the ACHEMA Congress 2024
From June 10-14, Frankfurt am Main hosted the ACHEMA 2024, the world forum for chemical engineering, process engineering and biotechnology, which attracts experts and innovators from around the world to showcase the latest advances and sustainable solutions for the industry.
One of the main themes of the event was sustainability, which is closely related to the work of the Chair of Energy Process Engineering as part of the H2Giga/Sinewave project. EVT's research aims to improve the efficiency of PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolysis by optimizing the cooling cycle. During the congress, our employees had the opportunity to present their latest results in a lecture on "Bubble development in the cooling circuit of PEM electrolysis".
Dipl.-Ing. Johannes Manthey and Dipl.-Ing. Montadhar Guesmi jointly presented a prediction model for bubble formation due to supersaturation in the tube flow of the cooling circuit. This model is a significant step towards understanding and mitigating the inefficiencies in the cooling processes of PEM electrolysis, thus contributing to more sustainable and effective hydrogen production technologies.
ACHEMA is not only a platform for presenting research, but also a place of inspiration and knowledge. Our employees were able to gain valuable insights from both the stimulating presentations and the impressive exhibition. Exchanging ideas with other experts and learning about the latest technologies made the event an inspiring experience for all participants.
