DECHEMA Hochschullehrer-Nachwuchspreis in process engineering for Sascha Heitkam

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gregor Wehinger showed how virtual reality can be used to illustrate the complex phenomena and theoretical models of transport processes in fixed-bed reactors. Dr.-Ing. Sascha Heitkam explained how students can gain a basic understanding of the stability of process foams in order to be able to recognize disruptive or absent foaming in processes in their later professional lives.

Both presentations impressed both the audience and the jury, who, even after careful consideration, had difficulty deciding on a winner and therefore awarded the prize in equal parts to two candidates. The DECHEMA Young University Teachers Award for Technical Chemistry, which is endowed with 1,500 euros, is awarded annually by the Association for Education and Innovation.
