ProcessNet: Best Presentation Award for Junior Scientists

Anna-Elisabeth Sommer (Chair of Transport Processes at Interfaces) was awarded the prize for the best presentation by a junior scientist at the (online) meeting of the ProcessNet Division Multiphase Flow on March 9 and 10, 2021. The talk was titled "Collision phenomena of fine particles with bubbles using 4D particle tracking velocimetry.’

In the work different collision mechanisms between bubble and particle could be investigated experimentally. It was shown that particles with low inertia can also collide with a bubble in the wake. Co-authors are Dr. Sascha Heitkam and Prof. Kerstin Eckert.

Anna-Elisabeth Sommer (Professur für Transportprozesse an Grenzflächen) wurde im Rahmen der (online) Sitzung der ProcessNet Fachgruppe Mehrphasenströmung am 9. und 10. März 2021 mit den Preis für den besten Vortrag einer Nachwuchswissenschaftlerin ausgezeichnet. Der Vortrag trug den Titel „ Collision phenomena of fine particles with bubbles using 4D particle tracking velocimetry.

In der Arbeit konnte experimentell verschiede Kollisionsmechanismen zwischen Blase und Partikel untersucht werden. Es wurde gezeigt, dass Partikel mit geringer Trägheit auch im Nachlauf mit einer Blase kollidieren können. Mitautoren sind Dr. Sascha Heitkam und Prof. Kerstin Eckert.
