JAHRESTREFFEN DER VDI / DECHEMA - FACHGRUPPEN
Multiphase flows, agglomeration and bulk solids technology, computational fluid
MARCH 16 - 18, 2026
TU Dresden
Dear colleagues and friends,
We cordially invite you to the joint annual meeting of the DECHEMA/VDI Divisions "Multiphase Flows", "Agglomeration and Bulk Solids Technology", "Computational Fluid Dynamics" from March 16-18, 2026 at the TU Dresden. We look forward to contributions (presentations, posters) from research institutions, universities and industry on all relevant topics of our specialist groups.

The following topics are particularly welcome for the multiphase flows section:
- Gas-liquid flows
- Fluid-solid flows
- Three-phase flows
- New measurement methods for the analysis of multiphase flows
- Numerical simulation of multiphase flows
- Multiscale modeling of multiphase processes
- AI methods and machine learning for multiphase flows
Topics of the Agglomeration and Bulk Solids Technology Group include
- Design of processes (apparatus, machines), process groups for product formulation
- Build-up and press agglomeration, particle coating, granulation in fluidized beds, drum or forced mixers; design tests, scale transfer, process combinations, new and further development of equipment, process integration, measurement and control concepts
- New methods for describing coupled transient processes
- Characterization of the quality of dispersed solid products, e.g. the breakage or abrasion behaviour of granulates, development of online measurement methods to characterize process dynamics for control concepts
- Storage and dosing of bulk solids
- Multi-scale modeling of powder, particle and molecular mechanics
- Functional design of equipment and machines for raw material and product storage, conveying and dosing
- Design tests, new and further development of conveying and dosing machines, discharge aids and devices, design of logistical transport and distribution chains
- Mechanical behavior and property functions of disperse solids
- Use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning methods
- Innovative powder and bulk solids measurement technology, in particular process measurement technology
- Structure and composition of particle clusters, agglomerates and porous bulk solids
The following topics are particularly welcome for the Computational Fluid Dynamics specialist group:
- Numerical methods (molecular dynamics, DNS, LES and RANS)
- Discretization and parallelization methods
- Multi-scale and hybrid numerical methods
- Turbulence modeling
- Mixing processes
- Flows with heat and mass transfer, or reacting flows
- Fluid-structure coupling
- Processes and methods for multiphase flows
Submission of contributions is open and is open until December 15, 2025.
In view of the three joint specialist groups, we also welcome contributions that cover aspects of more than one specialist group. In addition to presentations and technical discussions in the auditorium, poster sessions with short introductory presentations offer the opportunity to present work at an early stage of development. As always, the best talks and posters will be awarded according to the statues of the respective specialist groups.
Please forward this call for papers to interested colleagues.
We would also like to motivate students, doctoral students and postdocs to become members of DECHEMA - the competent network for chemical engineering and biotechnology in Germany - at the same time as registering for the annual conference.
We look forward to welcoming you to Dresden in March 2026 for an intensive exchange and look forward to your contribution!
With best regards
Prof. Dr. et Ing. habil. Kerstin Eckert, TU Dresden
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Prof. E.h. Dr. h.c. Stefan Heinrich, Hamburg University of Technology
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gunther Brenner, TU Clausthal
