Brief Description
The GEMINI Plus project will provide a framework for the usability of high-temperature gas-cooled reactors (HTGR) regarding the current knowledge in the field in the context of the EU cooperating with the USA, Japan and South Korea. In order to validate its success the framework shall be applied to Poland as a first step. The Chair of Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy is assigned as Task Leader for the collection of data with respect to graphitic dust production in prismatic block type HTGR. Furthermore, the chair assists in the economic evaluation for the integration of HTGRs in the current heat market as well as providing a supply chain study regarding the possibilities of the European industry to realize the Gemini Plus concept. Additionally, the chair assists in neutron flux calculations for the core layout of the Gemini Plus HTGR design using Monte Carlo simulation tools.
