Guest visit by Prof. Perkowski as part of the BMBF project GreenCompas at the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) at TU Dresden

Guest stay at the ILK (from left to right): Dr. J. Augustyniak (Kaunas University of Technology in Kaunas, Lithuania), Prof. D. M. Perkowski (BUT), Dipl.-Ing. R. Stanik (ILK), Dr. A. Langkamp (ILK), Dipl.-Ing. T. Dziewiencki (ILK).
Professor Dariusz M. Perkowski from Bialystok University of Technology (BUT), Poland, visited the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) at TU Dresden (TUD) from April 23 to May 6, 2025.
The ILK has maintained a close and successful collaboration with Professor Perkowski for many years in the field of lightweight engineering, particularly in relation to fiber-reinforced composites. His outstanding expertise in the numerical simulation of coupled field problems in solid and fluid mechanics brings essential and central technical competence to the partnership. A special focus of his work is the consideration of temperature-dependent material properties when addressing complex field problems.
The current visit, funded through the BMBF project GreenCompas (funding code: 01DS24004), aims to identify new cooperation opportunities between TUD and BUT. In addition to deepening their shared research interests in lightweight engineering, the initiative also seeks to establish new points of collaboration in the field of civil engineering. The core objective of project GreenCompas is to prepare joint research initiatives, such as those within the framework of the Horizon Europe funding program.
