Exchange between TU Dresden and University of Patras promotes knowledge transfer in research and teaching
As part of the DAAD project M2BRIDGE, the summer school "Engineering for Sustainability in Lightweight Systems" took place at the University of Patras (Greece). The aim of the event was to deepen the international exchange between students and researchers from TU Dresden and the Greek partner university and to jointly discuss sustainable approaches in lightweight engineering.
A group of 20 students, ten each from Germany and Greece, took the opportunity to shed light on current issues of sustainability in lightweight engineenring technology during an intensive week. Topics relating to ecological materials, energy-efficient manufacturing processes and interdisciplinary communication strategies were covered in application-oriented workshops, specialist lectures and discussion rounds. The open and committed exchange between the participants contributed significantly to the success of the event.
The diversity of perspectives was particularly enriching: differences in teaching and research systems encouraged reflection and led to new ideas and impetus for future projects. This resulted not only in professional connections, but also in personal contacts that will further promote intercultural dialog.
We would like to thank everyone involved who contributed to the success of this event: the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Intelligent Design & Sustainable Engineering Group (IDEAS), TU Dresden Sustainability Management and our great team on site.
