Flexible wall structures for acoustic liners
The work in the reporting year focused on designing the process steps for the manufacturing of curved structures for Plate Resonator Liners (PR-Liners) and Helmholtz Resonator Liners (HR-Liners). Following the evaluation of the concepts, flat liner samples of both acoustic principles were manufactured with varying geometric dimensions for acoustic analysis. In the second part of the reporting period, the development and implementation of a curved reference HR-Liner and an HR-Liner with flexible walls, both featuring an engine-like geometry, took place. These demonstrators offer the unique opportunity to compare both acoustic principles under realistic conditions. The manufacturing of these demonstrators goes beyond the reporting period and will make up the main part of the work until the end of the project.
