Innovative research on the space technology of the future
The Chair of Space Systems explores a wide range of new key space technologies. These include propulsion systems and future technologies, as well as small satellites, spin-off technologies and novel energy systems.
Research at the Chair of Space Systems
Research work at the chair is focused on fundamental engineering research on novel propulsion concepts and the development and testing of technologies for the various tasks and subsystems of spacecraft. The aspect of technology transfer in terrestrial applications is of especially great importance. The topics range from methods of ultra-precise field-emission electric propulsion, energy harvesting to the development of small satellites, gas sensors, novel nano-carbons for space applications, multi-purpose satellites and novel thermal control technologies.
