Project completion "Sample classification"
Recognizing and evaluating work processes
At the beginning of June, we had the pleasure of presenting our system for the automated recognition and evaluation of work processes in mobile excavators at the final meeting of the FVB research project "Pattern Classification".
The system recognizes typical activities such as digging, grading or slewing and evaluates them based on technological parameters - e.g. filling level, productivity, efficiency or playing time. This is made possible by a specially developed, flexible hardware and software architecture that was installed on a wheeled excavator and tested in the field with real operators.
This allows work processes to be analyzed and evaluated over the course of a working day, a construction project or even the entire service life of the machine. In addition to energy and safety-relevant evaluation parameters, the influence of the operator on the process and the machine is also highlighted and billing-relevant construction performance parameters are determined.
A big thank you to all project partners for the strong exchange and the great cooperation! Special thanks to ÜAZ Glauchau Bau Bildung Sachsen e.V. for the opportunity to test our system in the Gablenz gravel pit with experienced machine operators.
We are currently developing new project ideas that expand the areas of application for process recognition in mobile machinery. We are always on the lookout for interested partners and look forward to exciting collaborations!
