Challenge
The safe securing, alignment, positioning, and removal of heavy structural components are among the key tasks on construction sites. Today, these processes are often performed manually and require experienced specialists. At the same time, vibrations, unfavorable load distributions, and complex assembly procedures place high demands on safety and efficiency.
Project Goal
The goal of the AutoTraVers project is to develop an intelligent lifting beam that can assist future lifting and assembly processes. Loads should not only be securely lifted but also automatically detected, aligned, and actively stabilized during the lifting process so that they can ultimately be safely released.
Technical Approach
AutoTraVers combines various innovative technologies into a single integrated system. These include AI-based methods for automatically detecting the load and its attachment points, movable hook mounts with an automatic locking mechanism, and a rotation and tilt system for load alignment, and position control.
The intelligent integration of these functions creates a novel approach to the autonomous lifting, alignment and release of heavy structural components on construction sites.
Benefits and Added Value
- Automatic detection of structural elements and their attachment points
- Intelligent support for load handling
- Active alignment of loads during the lifting process
- A key foundation for future automated lifting and assembly processes
