Branch meeting at the 13th International Fluid Power Conference
The International Fluid Power Conference (IFK) is one of the world's most important conferences in the fields of fluid power components, systems and drive technology. It takes place every two years, alternating between Aachen and Dresden. From June 13 to 15, 2022, the Institute for Fluid Power Drives and Systems (ifas) of the RWTH invited to Aachen. Staff members of the Chair of Fluid-Mechatronic Systems at TU Dresden submitted ten contributions, all of which were presented. In addition, we were represented with an exhibition booth and gave five students the opportunity to participate in the event. The IFK is the industry meeting place for fluid power drive technology and thus promotes the professional exchange, which is enormously important for scientific work. Due to the proximity to industry, the focus is always on practical relevance, resulting in a successful balance between scientific depth and application-oriented pragmatism. The event thus not only advanced current projects, but also provided new impulses and ideas as well as facilitated contacts, which we were able to establish above all at our trade fair stand as one of 16 exhibitors. But also our students were able to get a first insight into the rather familiar world of fluid power engineering and to establish contacts to companies for internships and student research projects. And last but not least, we were able to gather valuable impressions, voices and opinions for the organization of the next IFK in 2024, as the focus, topics and readiness for physical conferences has changed over the last two years. We are therefore looking forward to shaping the 14th IFK, which will take place in Dresden from March 19-21, 2024. It will definitely be changing.
