Bronze at the World Aquatics Masters Championships
From August 2nd to August 11th, 2023, the Masters Swimming World Championships (World Aquatics Masters Championships) were held on Kyushu, the southernmost main island of Japan.
Beyond his expertise in the field of simulation and analysis of fluid power components at our chair, our esteemed colleague, Lennard Günther, has made fluid handling his element in his spare time as well:
With remarkable ease, Lennard achieved outstanding success in the 25-and-over age group. In the 200m backstroke, he only had to yield to two competitors and secured a well-deserved bronze medal with a time of 2:21.30 minutes. Additionally, he delivered impressive performances with an eighth-place finish in the 100m backstroke in 1:02.47 minutes and an equally impressive tenth-place finish in the 50m backstroke.
This event, encompassing swimming, water polo, diving, synchronized swimming, and open water swimming, spanned across three cities and saw participation from approximately 6000 Masters athletes from around the world. The swimming competitions took place from August 5th to August 11th in the main venue of Fukuoka.
Lennard Günther, in his spare time, trains with the university sports club's first team, and with this remarkable achievement, he has once again proven that fluid is his element in the truest sense.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment and eagerly anticipate the new (fluidic) dimensions Lennard Günther will conquer next!
