Smart loader - adaptive mobile machine control
Research Task/Objectives
Integrating smart automation into mobile machinery control reduces the drivers work load and therefore increases machine efficiency. Cloud-based services allows using comprehensive machine information for innovative control algorithms as well as outsourcing computationally intensive processes like machine state estimation or control optimization in parallel to current working processes. Today, there are no suitable architectures and assistance solutions of cloud-supported controls that fulfils the requirements of mobile machines.
Approach/Results
Using the bucket-filling process of a wheel loader, the project partners implement assistance solutions and develop an appropriate cloud architecture.
Therefor, an available machine will be equipped with additional electronic that
communicates wireless to a cloud-system. This gathers process information and
responses to dedicated assistance services with optimized machine and planning
parameters.
Based on the environmental information, the services plan bucket trajectories and transmit them to the real machine control.
This project is co-financed with tax money based on the budget plan, which was approved by the members of the Saxon State Parliament.
