Students acquire basic knowledge of the tribological relationships that occur between interacting surfaces under relative motion. They will be able to describe the entire field of friction and wear, including lubrication and corresponding interface interactions both between solids and between solids, liquids or gases, and to analyse and evaluate cases of damage in the field of gearing and bearing technology. After completing the course, the students will be able to analyse friction and wear, analyse and evaluate damage cases.
