Congratulations, Dr. Tilman Witt!
Tilman Witt has successfully defended his dissertation on "Entwicklung einer Methode zur Charakterisierung des Reibungsverhaltens beim Messerschneiden von
Lebensmitteln" (Development of a method to characterize the frictional behavior of knife cutting of food) with very good results.
The dissertation committee consisted of the chairman Prof. Berthold Schlecht, the reviewers Prof. Jens-Peter Majschak, Prof. Harald Rohm and Prof. Alexander Brosius as well as Prof. Cornelia Breitkopf. The thesis contributes to a better understanding of the cutting process of foods such as cheese, meatloaf and chewing gum with the experimental separation of different force components.
