Alumni meeting '25

On September 18, 2026, the Chair of Processing Machines/ Processing Technology at TU Dresden hosted this year’s alumni reunion. The event was dedicated entirely to a proud milestone—the chair’s 70th anniversary.

Starting at 2:00 p.m., participants had the opportunity to gain exciting insights as part of the pre-anniversary program:

• Campus tour: Together with Dr. Zaun from the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections, interested attendees explored the historical and architectural highlights of the campus.

• Guided tour at ZINT: Staff from other Chairs provided insights into current work and research infrastructures at the Center for Integrated Natural Product Technology (ZINT).

• Guided tour at the IVV: The Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging opened its doors and presented practical insights into applied technologies.

Festive Program & Honors

Following the traditional reception with coffee and cake, Professor Majschak guided the audience through the varied program. A special highlight was the retrospective on seven decades of the chair’s history presented by Professor Hennig and Professor Majschak. A ceremonial highlight was the presentation of the Golden Diplomas and the Otto Hänsel Prize. In addition, Dr.-Ing. Hannes Köhler and Jonas Peter provided all attendees with exciting insights into ongoing research projects by the Chair and the IVV.

A Relaxed Conclusion

Following the official portion of the event, the evening transitioned into the traditional barbecue buffet starting at 6:30 p.m. In a relaxed and warm atmosphere, guests shared old anecdotes, reconnected with colleagues and former classmates, and forged new connections for the future.
