The Chair of Processing Machines/ Processing Technology at TU Dresden cordially invites all alumni to this year’s alumni reunion on September 18, 2026. Take this opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and colleagues, learn about current developments at the Chair, and share memories and make new connections in a relaxed atmosphere. We look forward to spending the evening with you!

This year’s alumni reunion is dedicated to the Chair’s 70th anniversary. To mark this occasion, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in selected program events starting at 2:00 p.m.—before the official start of the reunion. You can choose from the following three options:

• Campus tour with Dr. Zaun from the Art Office at TU Dresden
• Guided tour of ZINT led by staff from the other Chairs
• Guided tour of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging

Otherwise, the tried-and-true format remains the same: Following a reception with coffee and cake between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m., Professor Majschak will lead participants through a varied program:

• 4:00 p.m. Welcome and review of the commemorative symposium “100 Years of Innovations in Processing Technology and Packaging” on March 12, 2026 —Prof. Jens-Peter Majschak
• 4:20 p.m. Honors and Awards: Presentation of the Otto Hänsel Foundation Award for Best Thesis; Honoring graduates with the Golden Diploma
• 4:40 p.m. History of the Department, Part 1: The Years 1954 to 1992—Comments on a Written Retrospective —Prof. Joachim Hennig
• 5:00 p.m. History of the Department, Part 2: The Years 1992 to 2026—A Brief Overview —Prof. Jens-Peter Majschak
• 5:20 p.m. Research Today—Spot 1: Laser Joining of Paper — . Jonas Peter (Fraunhofer IVV)
• 5:40 p.m. Research Today – Feature 2: Cleaning Modeling for Resource-Efficient Food Production – Dr. Hannes Köhler
• 6:00 p.m. What We’re Doing Today for Tomorrow—News and Closing Outlook —Prof. Jens-Peter Majschak
• 6:15 p.m. End of the program and walk to the festival tent

Following the official program, the traditional barbecue buffet in a relaxed atmosphere will provide ample opportunity for personal conversations and catching up with former classmates, colleagues, and friends. Please note: Unlike in previous years, the barbecue buffet will take place in a festival tent in the parking lot at the Holztechnikum. Signs will be posted on-site.
