Impressions of the Dresden Science Night 2023

The 20th Dresden Science Night took place on June 30, 2023. Many Dresden research institutions once again opened their laboratories, machine halls, ... for visitors and gave an insight into their day-to-day research.

As usual, the ITM also opened its textile machine halls and laboratories from 5 p.m. to midnight and was delighted by the lively response and interest of the numerous guests.

Our textile machine hall Walter-Frenzel-Bau at the main campus of the TUD Dresden University of Technology once again attracted numerous visitors. The following highlights were on the program: textile machine demonstrations (e.g. knitting, weaving and warp knitting techniques); presentation of textile high-tech structures made of high-performance fiber materials for fiber composites, construction textiles, carbon concrete, sensor networks, robotics, functional textiles and protective textiles; biomedical textiles, insight into the modeling and simulation of textile structures and processes; ...

At our 2nd location at Hohe Straße 6, the Chair of Development and Assembly of Textile Products at ITM presented state-of-the-art 3D scanners & 4D scanners for virtual product development. Application areas in clothing technology and technical textiles were presented here and visitors took the opportunity to try out 3D scanners & 4D scanners.

We are already looking forward to the 21st edition of the Dresden Science Night, which will take place on 14.06.2024 from 5 p.m. in Dresden .
