Internationalization Award
The international orientation of our university as a prerequisite for excellent research and teaching is an important building block on TU Dresden's path to becoming a global university of the 21st century. But what would a university be without the people who study, work, teach and research there? Particularly in the areas of activity of internationalization, there is a need for committed stakeholders who are committed to cosmopolitanism, a welcoming culture, an international campus and the expansion of innovative international cooperation.
Which projects and initiatives can be submitted?
All projects and initiatives that can be classified in at least one of the following categories are eligible for the award:
- International Campus and Community
Staff, researchers and students at our university are involved in a variety of different initiatives that contribute to a greater sense of community and a welcoming culture. These include, for example, dance classes, political debates, introductory events and buddy programs that bring international students and locals together. The boundaries between students, teaching staff and researchers are blurred as the common desire to create an intercultural, safe and welcoming environment unites everyone.
- Innovative International Research Cooperation
Research is an essential pillar of science and it is not uncommon for scientists to pool their resources on an international level in order to achieve the best possible results. International cooperation can be organized in different ways and increasingly contributes to solving the challenges of the 21st century on a global level. We are looking for best practice examples and role models for international research collaborations that may even have led to groundbreaking results.
- Social Responsibility and Impact
We live in a time and in a world in which the social divide between rich and poor, between people in secure and those in precarious circumstances is widening and causing upheaval. Ethical questions about the relationship between humanity and our planet are being raised and need to be answered. What all these difficulties have in common is that they cannot be solved by individuals alone, but require the commitment of a large number of committed stakeholders at a global level. In this category, we are looking for people and projects at TU Dresden that deal with the social issues of our time.
- Exceptional Engagement and Empowerment
Internationalization always requires personal commitment. People who serve as role models by challenging stereotypes and inspiring others with their open and positive thinking are eligible for this category. They empower people by supporting the less privileged and giving them a voice in our community.
