With "Dresden is (s)t bunt", the TU Dresden also celebrates the diversity of Saxony
Delicious food and drinks, loud music and lots of conversation - the "Dresden is(s)t bunt" banquet was once again well attended and supported this year. With a total of 280 tables, hundreds of visitors and organizers came together on Monday in a unique atmosphere to celebrate diversity in Dresden. In addition to a colorful cultural program, the Gastmahl offered the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas about different cultures and share food with others.
TU Dresden also took part in the guest banquet with a total of 10 tables to set an example for diversity, exchange and openness in Dresden.
Prof. Ursula Staudinger, Rector of TU Dresden, emphasizes: “Openness to the world, a welcoming culture, a variety of perspectives and diversity - this is what the Guest Banquet stands for and these values are also essential for the attractiveness of any location for science and innovation. Scientific excellence and the resulting positive economic effects can only be achieved through international cooperation and global exchange. Those who work against this through exclusion, isolation and even racism are endangering the prosperity of all.”
Strengthening diversity in Saxony
After the European elections and the state elections in Saxony, it is more important than ever to publicly stand up for our democratic society and good coexistence. As a cosmopolitan university, TU Dreden is committed to a strong democracy and the inseparable values of respect, diversity and cosmopolitanism. At the same time, it warns against anti-constitutional and anti-Semitic efforts that seek to undermine the free and democratic Fundamental Principles and universal human rights through inhuman thought and action.
