Within this group, the proportion of those with international citizenship and international university entrance qualifications (Bildungsausländer:innen) has risen steadily over the last 15 years at TU Dresden, from 9.2% in 2010 to 16.1% in 2024. International Teaching
Currently, TU Dresden offers 43 international study programs, comprising 26 English-taught Master's degree programs and 26 double-degree programs with global partners. Among German universities with more than 20.000 students, TUD currently ranks among the top 2 (English-taught Master's) and the top 3 (double degrees).
While the number of foreign students pursuing a Master's degree has risen sharply, the number of those pursuing a Diplom degree has fallen continuously. This is related to the switch from diploma to BA/MA degree programs. Bachelor's degree programs are less in demand among international students, and the number of incoming exchange students has also decreased in recent years.
