For this year's Dies Academicus, the Writing Center put together a special workshop program for you: Take advantage of the day to further your education and develop your academic skills!

One of the workshops is specially designed for international students and can be attended in German and English:

• Basics of scientific writing, video and round of exchange for international students, 4 pm - 5 pm, registration via OPAL:

  At TU Dresden, good scientific practice is expected of everyone. But what does that actually mean? In a video input (approx. 10 minutes), the basics of scientific writing at the TU Dresden will be explained to you: What are scientific standards, why is a research question so important and why do you have to deal with other sources so thoroughly?

  In the exchange round from 4 to 5 p.m. questions can be discussed and there is still a small writing method to try out.

All other offerings will be in German:

• Probieren & Studieren – Schreibmethoden ausprobieren, 9.30 - 11.00 Uhr, Anmeldung über OPAL: Schreiben ist ein kreativer und höchst individueller Prozess, für den es keine Patentlösungen gibt. Dennoch gibt es eine Reihe an Schreibmethoden und Arbeitstechniken, die sich für viele Schreibende bewährt haben und von diesen genutzt werden, wann immer sie auf Schreibhemmnisse stoßen. In diesem Live-Workshop in Big Blue Button unterstützt Schreibtutor Andrej Swidsinski dich, die richtige Methode für dich zu finden und mindestens eine davon selbst auszuprobieren. Am Ende dieses Workshops hast du garantiert einen Text geschrieben, der dich wieder einen Schritt weiterbringt.
• Lesen im Studium, 12.00 - 15.00 Uhr, Anmeldung über OPAL: Auf deinem Schreibtisch stapeln sich die Bücher, die Abgabe der nächsten Arbeit steht kurz bevor und beim Lesen verschwimmen dir vor lauter Stress die Buchstaben vor den Augen? Lesen ist im Studium allgegenwärtig und das kann doch jede:r. Allerdings ist Lesen nicht gleich Lesen - grundlegendes Wissen über ökonomisches Lesen und Lesestrategien helfen dabei, den individuellen Leseprozess effektiver zu gestalten. Und nach dem Lesen muss man das Gelesene auch noch verstehen und behalten - dabei helfen verschiedene Methoden, die du im Live-Workshop in Big Blue Button mit Schreibtutorin Paulina Hösl kennenlernst und ausprobierst.

• Besser organisiert mit einem Bullet Journal, 13.00 - 17.30 Uhr, Anmeldung über OPAL: Mit der Bullet-Journal-Methode kannst du dein ganzes Leben organisieren und stets den Überblick über all deine Projekte und Aufgaben behalten. Dazu benötigst du zu Beginn lediglich ein leeres Notizbuch und einen Stift. Die Methode ist äußerst flexibel und jederzeit an deine Bedürfnisse anpassbar. Im Live-Workshop in Big Blue Button erfährst du von Schlüsselkompetenztutorin Bettina Groschopp, wie ein Bullet Journal aufgebaut ist, wie du damit arbeiten und die verschiedenen Bestandteile gestalten kannst – von minimalistisch bis kreativ. Nach dem Workshop kannst du entscheiden, ob du selbst ein Bullet Journal starten möchtest.

In addition, of course, writing counselling take place as they do every Wednesday from 10 am to noon and 4 pm to 6 pm, and you can attend these before you start your writing project. Either book a fixed appointment via OPAL or drop by the writing counselling room in the TU Matrix.
