Partnerships and cooperation

Collaboration with international partners forms the core of the internationalization of research and teaching at TU Dresden. We maintain close cooperation with individual, renowned universities in the transCampus partnerships. We promote cooperation in certain regions, both in the neighborhood - with Poland and the Czech Republic - and globally, for example through our Saxon Science Liaison Offices in India and Taiwan.

TU Dresden pursues specific goals with this variety of collaborations: Together with our partners, we want to strengthen research and teaching in particular. In addition, we promote technology transfer, innovation and social engagement on a global level.

transCampus

The transCampus between TU Dresden and King's College London is one of our best-practice examples of existing international collaborations. Complementary research infrastructure is flanked by shared resources that allow the partnership to expand from the life sciences to many other research areas.

Saxon Science Liaison Office India

In parallel to the Saxon Science Liaison Office in Taiwan, TU Dresden has been operating its second Saxon Science Liaison Office in India since 2024, thus strengthening its engagement in Asia. The office in Chennai on the southwest coast of the subcontinent represents Saxony as a diverse university region and intensifies relations with Indian stakeholders from science, industry and culture.

Liaison Office in Taiwan

TU Dresden operates a Scientific Liaison Office in Taiwan on behalf of all Saxon universities. The objective is to represent and promote scientific exchange as well as the cultural and economic interests of Saxony in Taiwan. The project is financed by the Free State of Saxony.

EUTOPIA

As a member of the EUTOPIA higher education alliance, TU Dresden is collaborating with nine universities to create a new model for higher education in Europe that is adaptable and confident in addressing the global challenges of the 21st century by focusing on pedagogical excellence, greater mobility, and innovative cross-campus learning and teaching activities.

Regional cross-border Partner­ships (CZ-PL-SN)

As a cosmopolitan university, TU Dresden contributes actively to the internationality in the region of the Saxony-Czech Republic-Poland border triangle. Therefore, TUD is very committed to the long-standing and active collaborations with universities and other institutions in the neighboring countries. Partner­ships in Asia and Africa

TU Dresden is actively engaged on a global scale in Taiwan, India, and Sub-Saharan Africa, aiming to develop sustainable solutions to worldwide challenges through research and partnerships. The emphasis is placed on microelectronics, water research, environmental sustainability, and social change, all while pursuing specific UN sustainability goals. Capacity building and international cooperation are central to this strategy. In Sub-Saharan Africa, TU Dresden is implementing numerous projects that foster innovative approaches to addressing regional challenges and enhancing the exchange of knowledge and resources.

TU Dresden's international partnerships are practiced at all levels of the university, in institutes, faculties, schools and university-wide.
