Partnerships and cooperation

The internationalization of teaching and research is an integral part of TU Dresden’s strategic development. This is also expressed in collaboration with international partners. Working closely together, we develop teaching programs, coordinate student and employee exchanges, manage numerous international scholarship programs, and promote international project cooperation in all university areas.

International partnerships at TU Dresden exist on the faculty, department, or university level and cover the whole range from teaching, research, and transfer to business cooperation.

transCampus

The transCampus between TU Dresden and King's College London is one of our best-practice examples of existing international collaborations. Complementary research infrastructure is flanked by shared resources that allow the partnership to expand from the life sciences to many other research areas.

Regional Partnership Wrocław

As a cosmopolitan university, TU Dresden contributes actively to the internationality in the region of the Saxony-Czech Republic-Poland border triangle. Therefore, TUD is very committed to the long-standing and active collaborations with universities and other institutions in the neighboring countries. The regional partnership with Wrocław is presented on the following page.

India

The cooperation in India with the renowned Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) focuses on research collaboration, and structured exchange. TU Dresden is intensifying and expanding such activities with the scientifically aspiring country in order to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology.

Taiwan

TU Dresden operates a Scientific Liaison Office in Taiwan on behalf of all Saxon universities. The objective is to represent and promote scientific exchange as well as the cultural and economic interests of Saxony in Taiwan. The project is financed by the Free State of Saxony.

Global South

TU Dresden is aware of its global responsibility and strives to develop innovative contributions to solving global challenges. Lighthouses

In this category, we support particular partnerships, networks and programs on the decentral level. This includes international relationships and activities with a TUD-wide significance that have outstanding subject-specific relevance and are of high importance for the schools and faculties internationally. Overall, these "lighthouses" stand for the quality, breadth and diversity of TU Dresden’s internationalization.

EUTOPIA

As a member of the EUTOPIA higher education alliance, TU Dresden is collaborating with nine universities to create a new model for higher education in Europe that is adaptable and confident in addressing the global challenges of the 21st century by focusing on pedagogical excellence, greater mobility, and innovative cross-campus learning and teaching activities.
