More information about the project:
From April to September 2025, Mario Pfeifer will conduct artistic research at the TUD, focusing on the intersections of technology, society, and cultural narratives. His project, “Beyond the Binaries,” is an AI-driven, dynamic video installation that investigates the complex relationship between humans and artificial intelligence. The work reflects on core existential questions in data-driven realities and seeks to explore new aesthetic and ethical dimensions through personal storytelling and technological intervention.
Mario Pfeifer is an internationally working artist and filmmaker. He was born in Dresden in 1981 and lives and works both there and in Berlin. In his immersive film installations, he addresses social fractures, unequal power relations, disruptive cultures of memory, and the complex conditions of media representation—often grounded in documentary research, always with a distinct aesthetic and precision characteristic of his work. His pieces have been exhibited worldwide in exhibitions, festivals, and biennials. In 2024, he was awarded the German Human Rights Film Prize for his work “Cell 5 – A Reconstruction”.
