SaxoForN - transregional research practice network
The team for general medicine in Dresden receives BMBF funding of €1,138,515 to set up the transregional family doctor research practice structure "SaxoForN".
The team for general medicine (Prof. Antje Bergmann), in cooperation with the Institute for General Medicine at the Goethe University in Frankfurt aM (Prof. Ferdinand Gerlach, Chairman of the SVR Health), is building a transregional network of research practices in Saxony and Hesse to conduct research in the general practitioner setting expand and improve.
Although a significant part of patient care takes place in the outpatient sector, clinical research mostly takes place in the inpatient sector. However, the results can only be transferred to the general practitioner care setting to a limited extent, since the framework conditions that guide action (holistic care approach, outpatient prescription guidelines, high proportion of patients with multimorbidity and polypharmacy, etc.) are often ignored.
This problem is addressed with the development and expansion of the research practice network SaxoForN (association of the Saxon network SaxoN and the Hessian network ForN). A qualification concept tailored to GP practices (in cooperation with the KKS Dresden) and the continuous involvement of GP practices and patients in the development and implementation of research projects will ensure both clinical and health care research for the GP setting in a high-quality and needs-oriented manner.
Renowned cooperation partners are involved in the project:
- Coordination Center for Clinical Studies, TU Dresden
- Dept. of Medical Informatics, Biometry, Epidemiology, RU Bochum
- Medical Informatics Group, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main
- Dept. Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacoepidemiology, Heidelberg
