Retreat 2023
From July 10th to 12th, 2023, the CRC/TRR 205 conducted an enriching and enlightening retreat at Bildungshaus Kloster Schöntal. The three-day event brought together a total of 95 participants and fostered a vibrant atmosphere of knowledge exchange and collaboration.
The main focus of the retreat was to provide all projects within the consortium with an opportunity to present their progress and developments. Each project team delivered concise 5-minute presentations, offering a comprehensive overview of the diverse research endeavors within SFB/TRR 205.
In addition to the scheduled presentations, the retreat encouraged in-depth discussions, questions, and scientific exchange during the daily poster sessions.
The retreat also featured guest speakers, adding to its highlight with keynote lectures from esteemed scholars. Dr. Magdalena Wekenborg from TU Dresden, Prof. Dr. Stefan Schlatt from the University of Münster, and Dr. Kotaro Sasaki from the University of Pennsylvania shared insights into their research with the consortium in their presentations and stimulated discussion. Their talks served as a source of inspiration and motivation for all participants.
As the retreat took place during a period of intense summer heat, participants were thankful for the nearby river’s refreshing respite, which provided a welcome opportunity for cooling off during breaks.
The “Retreat” at Bildungshaus Kloster Schöntal proved to be a remarkable occasion, uniting researchers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. The exchange of ideas, collaborative spirit, and exposure to distinguished keynote speakers contributed to its success. Participants left the event with new perspectives, valuable connections, and a renewed enthusiasm to further their research within the SFB/TRR 205 community.
