Internationalization strategy
For most members in the School of Medicine, internationality is a matter of course. They are globally networked and value the exchange with international colleagues as enriching and necessary in order to achieve excellent research results. Our internationalization strategy aims to leverage existing strengths, optimize structures and processes and deploy resources in a more targeted manner.
We pursue the following goals for all members of our department:
- Increasing the number of exchange opportunities according to our students’ needs
- Offering more courses taught in English
- Improving the support for international students
- Supporting international joint research projects, sharing expertise and resources
- Intensifying international exchange and stimulating collaborations across disciplines
- Increasing the international visibility of the science city Dresden
- Internationalizing the doctoral phase by establishing joint PhD programs
- Creating a vibrant international campus serving the needs of an international and diverse research community
- Understanding internationality as a matter of course
- Offering a comprehensive service and welcome culture allowing a smooth integration of scientists from all over the world
- Exchanging expertise with colleagues from partner universities worldwide
- Continuously improving internal structures to allow on-going evaluation, reflection and development
- Working towards a more international composition among academic staff
- Improving on translating scientific findings into society
