Ingmar Glauche is deputy head of the Institute for Medical Informatics and Biometrics and leads the research group for Theoretical Stem Cell Biology. He is the coordinator of institute's teaching activities.
Prof. Dr. Glauche’s research focus covers the following areas:
Hematopoietic stem cell aging:
- Clonal competition and clonal dominance
- Age-related changes in the polarity of HSC divisions
Theoretical concepts of stem cell organization:
- Proliferation- and differentiation control of haematopoietic stem cells
- Clonal competition phenomena
- Cell fate regulation of mouse embryonic stem cells
Disease and treatment models:
- Chronic and acute myeloid leukaemia
- Conceptual understanding of inherited bone marrow failure syndromes
- Gene therapeutic approaches
