Presentation of NORAH study results at EU meeting in Brussels
1049 Brussels, Belgium
Prof. Seidler (Institute Director of the IPAS) was invited to present main results of the NORAH (Noise Related Annoyance, Cognition and Health) study on disease risks to representatives of the European Union (EU) in Brussels on the 22nd of January 2019.
The meeting of ministries of the EU member states addresses exposure-response relations of noise effects on the cardiovascular system. Study results of the IPAS Dresden show correlations between traffic noise, railway noise as well as aircraft noise and ischaemic hearth diseases such as heart attack, stroke and heart failure/hypertensive heart disease. Noise effects were also found to influence depression risk.
