Topics in this research section
Preventive Health Services Research looks at interventions for prevention of chronic diseases in the population. Based on empirical evidence and psychological theory, we develop, conduct, and test individualized interventions that are applicable in various settings (e.g., general hospital, registry office) and the larger population. In this way and in accordance with the Prevention Act adopted in 2015, different target groups can be reached for prevention purposes and motivated to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Main focus
- Public health impact of behavior change interventions
- Methods of contacting population samples for realizing high reach and retention
- Population-level application of psychological behavioral change theories
- Computer-based individualization and interventions based on expert system technology
- Statistical modeling of unobserved population heterogeneity as a basis for the identification of target populations and intervention tailoring
The results of our research activities can be found in the publications of research area 4.
