Preventive health care research looks at measures for the behavioral and relationship-related prevention of diseases in the population. Based on health psychological theories of behavioural change and empirical evidence on the interaction of psychological, social and behavioural determinants of health, individualized prevention measures are developed that can be used in various population care facilities. Digitalized prevention offers immense potential for interaction and provides consistent and reliable care at relatively low cost, even for large and diverse target groups. A particular focus of the research area is on the comprehensive prevention of alcohol consumption and alcohol-related health problems in the population (see also the TUCAN project), the social perception of non-drinkers, as well as the use of colorectal cancer screening and informed decision-making in this context. Advanced quantitative and qualitative research methods are used.
