Prevention in the occupational and non-occupational context (Preventive Medicine)
As part of the DIPOL course "Preventive Medicine", the joint teaching of Occupational Medicine, Social Medicine and the two cross-sectional areas QB6: Clinical Environmental Medicine and QB10: Prevention, Health Promotion takes place. The combination is based on the strong overlap of the learning target catalogs of these subjects or cross-sectional areas. It offers the possibility of multidisciplinary consideration of the causes (exposures) of important clinical pictures with the aim of developing comprehensive prevention approaches.
Structure of the course
The DIPOL course Preventive Medicine is compulsory for all students of the fifth year. Successful participation in the course is a prerequisite for achievement certificates in the three areas of specialization involved (Occupational and Social Medicine, Clinical Environmental Medicine and Prevention, Health Promotion).
Components of the course are lectures, seminars and case vignettes in the 9th semester, as well as a written exam (60 MC-questions) about all involved subject areas at the end of the course.
