Georg Helm Prize for Obada Bahra

Great honor for Dr. Obada Bahra. The ZML/PLID scientist has been awarded the Georg Helm Prize 2023. The Verein zur Förderung von Studierenden der Technischen Universität Dresden e.V. honored his outstanding scientific doctoral thesis on the modulation of the intracellular signaling protein AKT1 by lipids.

About the Georg Helm Prize

The recipients of the Georg Helm Prize form a network of outstanding young researchers and scientists from all disciplines represented at TU Dresden. This interdisciplinary networking and the exchange of experience between those involved from different institutes and institutions is at the forefront of the Georg Helm Prize alumni network.

The alumni meet once a year for an interdisciplinary dialog and exchange of ideas between the award winners, TU Dresden and representatives of the Donors' Association. The feedback from the award winners, as high achievers and representatives of different disciplines and also human careers, forms the core of this discussion platform.

The resulting information feedback from other research institutes, companies and associations points the way for current issues in the design of research and teaching in the context of current problems. It also forms the basis for cooperation between science, universities and industry. The integration of the nominated award winners into the Georg Helm Alumni Network takes place directly through the presentation of the award-winning scientific work during the meeting.
