The Institute introduces itself
Pharmacology is a medical science that focuses on understanding the mechanisms through which pharmacological substances work in the human body. Therefore, discoveries from this field will provide doctors with research-based therapies.
The Integrative Center for Pharmacology and Toxicology (IZPT) is a joint resource-oriented structure and consists of the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology.

It is always our goal to make a substantial contribution to a faster and more efficient translation of novel mechanisms of action and therapeutic procedures into clinical practice and to impart this knowledge to the medical profession and students. The next generation of doctors and scientists is particularly important to us. Our lecturers guarantee students of human medicine and dentistry a modern range of courses covering all areas of pharmacology and toxicology. The institute has full authorization for further training as a specialist in pharmacology and toxicology. Information on this topic can be found in the section on advanced training. Students are offered a sound scientific education with competent supervision within the framework of experimental dissertations.
