Research Focus
Our research is dedicated to understanding the intricate interactions between lipids and proteins within the cell membranes and how these interactions influence cell signaling. Membrane lipid composition changes, can affect both, the physical properties of the lipid bilayer (thickness, fluidity) and the chemical interactions between lipids and proteins. These changes can significantly impact the bioactivity of membrane proteins, incl. receptors, enzymes or transporters, which play crucial role in signaling pathways. By studying protein-lipid interactions, we aim to uncover how variations in lipid composition modulate cellular functions and contribute to different health conditions.
