The Faculty of Biology will host a summer festival on August 28, 2026, featuring a graduation ceremony for the classes of 2023–2025—Registration is now open!

Welcome to the Faculty of Biology

The establishment of the Faculty of Biology in 1994 became the foundation for the life sciences in Dresden, which today encompasses many other institutions within the DRESDEN-concept network. The wide range of research conducted at the Faculty of Biology is also reflected in the faculty’s three attractive degree programs. Prospective students can choose between the bachelor’s program in “Molecular Biology and Biotechnology” and the master’s programs in “Biology in Society” and “Molecular Biosciences and Productive Biosystems.” The Faculty of Biology’s state-of-the-art laboratory and practical training facilities, an application-oriented and research-based education, and the enthusiastic commitment of our staff guarantee an exciting and future-oriented academic experience.
