"ingeniously social" in the chemicals issue
This year marked the twenty-first time that the "genial sozial" campaign day, initiated by the Saxon Youth Foundation and under the patronage of Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer, took place.
On June 24, 2025, the participating young people swapped their school desk for a job.
The young people donated the wages they earned to support local social projects in Saxony and around the world.
TU Dresden has also been organizing this day of action with great success since 2013. Under the coordination of Andrea Wörz (Directorate 2, SG 2.4), students Lieselotte Borgmann (8th grade, Gymnasium Coswig) and Leana Heyn (8th grade, Gymnasium Dresden-Pieschen), for example, took part this year in the Central Chemicals Issue Department.
They were supervised by Lisa Scheithauer-Harnisch and Sandra Ruhland.
They began with all the necessary instructions and a short tour of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry.
The students then weighed sea sand into easy-to-handle portions, assisted with receiving goods and applied new labels.
At the end of the activity day, the two dedicated helpers were able to carry out a small chromatographic experiment.
Everyone involved gave a very positive summary of the day and the two students expressed their thanks for the insights into TU Dresden.
