The faculty introduces itself
The Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry is one of the five faculties of the field of Mathematics and Sciences. It embraces 7 subject areas with 23 chairs.
At the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry about 128 employees are currently teaching and researching. Approximately 600 students are enrolled in the Chemistry (Bachelor and Master) and Food Chemistry (State Examination and Diploma) courses offered by the Faculty. The faculty is also involved to a considerable extent in the chemistry teacher training courses as well as in the basic training of numerous scientific and technical courses at the TU Dresden. Teaching is mainly supported by 15 professorships, which are additionally supported by 8 professors appointed jointly with non-university research institutions in the Master's programme in Chemistry. The close scientific networking of the faculty with the numerous non-university research institutions offers an excellent environment for modern teaching and research with a focus on "material-relevant chemistry" and "biologically oriented chemistry".
