Mathematical research
Research at the Faculty of Mathematics is a central component of various Research Priority Areas at TU Dresden and a connecting link between numerous interdisciplinary projects. Two research foci have developed over the past few years in the Faculty of Mathematics:
(1) Partial differential equation and their applications, and
(2) Discrete structures and optimisation.
Further focal points can be found in the area of Mathematics in Business and Economics and didactics. The research is funded by several ERC grants, DFG and BMBF projects and the participation in Clusters of Excellence, Collaborative Research Centres and Graduate Schools.
