Public lecture by Nobel laureate Georg Bednorz
On Wednesday, 17 June 2026, Nobel Laureate in Physics Georg Bednorz will be visiting TU Dresden. At 7 pm, he will give a public lecture in the Audimax on the topic ‘Superconductivity – from phenomenon to key technology of the 21st century’. The lecture will be held in German and admission is free.
In 1987, Georg Bednorz and Karl Alexander Müller were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in ceramic copper oxides. The discovery is regarded as a milestone in modern physics and laid the foundation for new applications in energy technology, medicine and research.
