Organic Photodetectors
Nowadays, light sensing is a growing field and applications are to be found in nearly every modern device. Due to the versatile properties of organic semiconductors, the materials as well as the device architectures of organic photodetectors can be tailored for specific applications and thereby new and fascinating applications are created.
In our research group new device architectures have been developed to harvest near-infrared photons selectively and efficiently [B. Siegmund et al. Nature Communication 8 (2017)], allowing for an integration to a near-infrared spectrometer on a centimeter scale [Z. Tang et al. Advanced Materials 29 (2017)]. Currently, new materials, new device concepts and architectures as well fundamental research on the origin of the detrimental dark current are ongoing.
