Nobel laureate visits IFMP!
Georg Bednorz visited IFMP on 17.6.2026.
It was a great honor and pleasure to welcome Nobel laureate Johannes Georg Bednorz to our Institute of Solid State and Materials Physics! In 1987, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics together with K. Alex Müller for the groundbreaking discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in ceramic materials – a discovery that continues to profoundly shape the field of solid-state physics to this day.
Dr. Bednorz visited Dresden on June 17, 2026, as part of the program Nobel Laureates as Guests at TU Dresden and took the opportunity to tour our laboratories with great interest. Naturally, we were absolutely delighted!
Thank you so much, dear Dr. Bednorz, for your visit and your keen interest!
